I am closing entries now so I can start to build the structure before the weekend.
Message to the GMs playing:
You will begin to see polls being created to display the player selection list. The player selection choice list is pre-set. I am doing this for a few reasons:
1) To ensure all NHL teams are represented in our playoff pool. I want guaranteed active players all the way to the end of the NHL playoffs. For example, if the NHL finals end up to be MIN vs DET and no one selected any of these teams...
2) It makes it alot easier to track in a poll who has been selected/who's available for selection.
3) It is fun and different: I like twists!
I am doing all this work to prepare and I want this draft to be as smooth as possible, so I am going to be strict on a few rules:
1) Double picking - A GM who selects a player already selected will result in his selection spot bumped to the end of the draft. If the double-picked player is not noticed till the end of the draft, the GM will lose this player and be assigned an un-selected player.
2) Picking out of turn - A GM who picks out of turn will result in losing the player selected and his selection spot bumped to the end of the draft. If the turn error is not noticed till the end of the draft, the GM will be forced to TRADE the player selected during the turn error to the team immediately following him in the draft order.
3) Picking to many D/F/G - If it is determined (during or after the draft) a GM exceeded the maximum allowable for a certain position, the GM will be forced to drop the last player selected that put him over the limit and replace the player with the prosper positional player.

I know we did one in the past. Something for fun. may just straight points G and A. Pick a team goalie for W (1 pt) and SO (2 pt).

I am leaving for Montreal tomorrow morning and will be unavailable until Monday evening.
The draft opens Tuesday Morning 7am EST. There is a chance we can start Monday evening when I return to Ottawa, but I'll let you know when I get back.

Playoffs usually start on Wednesdays, so would be good to get the draft wrapped up before start of the first game, but not a big deal. If we do a live draft on fantrax, we can likely get this done in a an hour But good creativity in this format too Eric, so can give it a try - should move pretty quickly. |

NYI earned a point tonight meaning the playoff match-ups are not settled in the East. I won't be able to finish structuring the threads for the Metro and Atlantic division until we know the match-ups. Not sure if you noticed the polls I created. I'll have to do this now on Monday night when I get back from the road trip.
I'd rather finish what I am working on AND know the playoff match-ups before I decide my selections.

Same here, I prefer knowing who's playing against whom. So I won't be making my selection until the match up are decided. |

New start time adjusted to Monday 5pm EST. I will send out a PM to all GMs playing.
Time constraints wont start till tomorrow morning.
Dead time adjusted to 11pm - 9am EST to accommodate Western Canada.
Player available list is at the top of each thread. ONLY pick players from the available list. Check your player off once selected. You will notice big names missing from the list (Malkin, Stamkos, etc.). There is only five of us, so the pickings were hard but I had to accommodate for injuries and making available at least four players from each team. The list in un-modifiable so don't ask to have a player added/removed.
Dave is first to pick. Good luck!
