The next award is.... The Brian Burke Award
This award is presented to the GM who best exemplifies the following characteristics: - Active in the forum and communicates a strong and effective opinion - Fierce competitiveness - Roster contains a strong theme ( all similar types of players; strong in certain stat categories, nationality, ect.) If the GM is someone you wouldn't mind "fighting in a barn in northern Alberta" it may be a good GM to nominate for this award. The requirements for nomination this year was at least 135 posts made throughout the year. There may be only be one round of voting if the results are conclusive (majority vote).

Haven't even met you Eric, but don't think I would want to face you in a barn anywhere... so you'll be my pick. But you obviously fulfill all three criteria fully.

At first I thought "this has got to be a race for 2nd place.....right?" I know Eric is a little surly at times but my god...Frank is the poster boy for truculence. But there is no doubt that Red Deer's roster is the more pugnacious of the two, in fact, Portland is kind of a soft team, so I've got to go with Eric.
I also gave Pembroke their due consideration with the likes of Roussel, Cody McLeod, RJ Umberger and BJ Crombeen but alas Dave is just too nice.

No love for St. Louis? Mike Fisher; Brendan Gallagher; Boone Jenner; Zach Kassian; Matt Bartkowski; Kevin Bieksa; Zdeno Chara; Jordan Nolan; Steve Downie; Patrik Kaleta; and Jarred Tinordi. That's some pretty good truculence.

Medvescak and Quebec were the PIMs leaders followed by Kelowna, Red Deer and Pembroke. I voted more on the GM than the roster though.

Your calling me cruel, savage, hostile but I'll take a fierce competitor for sure. I feel it should be between me, Kelowna or Eric since we have been extremely active from the get go and never been afraid to say what was needed at anytime. But I will agree that my roster look tad soft on paper but I still manage to win PIM, hits, block shots most of the week. In fact I won 14 out of 21 week for my PIM, 17 out 21 for Hits, 16 out 21 for Blocks shot. Don't forget on week 11 I beat Eric for PIM and block shots, then on week 12 I beat Blues in all three stats and week 21 I beat Barrie in all three stats. So I think my team is tougher or in this case unyielding then you might think. I can't and won't vote for Blues since he's a new gm and asn't been with us long enough to warrant the needed credit. The only three I think really fit this award is Rebel,Kelowna and me. Now who should I vote for ? This time I won't tell anyone who I vote when I do vote.
