Which do you prefer?
1). East conference vs east. West vs west 2). East and west play each other

Conference only or even distribution are the only options? Is it possible to have a schedule where we play every team but we play in our own conference more often?

Option 2, interconference play. Let the rivalries be born during the playoffs

Question: What is the point of divisions if we do interconference play? The standings and playoffs are supposed to be determined by how well you do against your division/conference. Just like NHL.
If we do vote Interconference then I vote we get rid of divisions all together and just do top 16 teams make the playoffs. then that is fair for all.

This is what I mean right here from the official rules: "PLAYOFFS The top 3 teams from each division will make up the first 12 teams in the playoffs, with the remaining 4 spots filled by the next 2 highest place finishers in each conference, regardless of division."Read more: www.iffhl.proboards.com/thread/3/iffhl-rules##ixzz2UQ5pcPlzTop 3 divisional teams are suppose to represent the cream of the crop form the division. If we spread out all games equally among the entire league, the playoff seeding technique becomes useless.

My main reason for voting for playing all teams is we have weekly matchups and a limited number of weeks in a season. If we made it conference only half the league would never play the other half except for 2 teams in the final. I look forward to weekly matchups with everyone and would be disappointed to never know how my team stacks up to the other half of the league.
I agree that the most fair way is top 16 if their isn't an emphasis on divisional play. That being said I kind of like having a division and having the playoffs set up like the new NHL. It might not be fair if the 16th best team in our 24 team league missed out because they were in a strong division so I understand if people want it switched to top 16 and wouldn't argue against it. I'm fine with divisions or top 16 playoffs I just want to be able to play each team in the league and not have 2 separate leagues in the regular season.

As per discussion with Matt (Barrie GM) via chat box, I am suggesting equal games played across entire league with the change of playoff seeding to top 16 teams regardless of division. Winning the division becomes bragging rights only with no real playoff impact. Playoffs become more accurate with ACTUAL top 16 in the league.

Totatlly cool with that Dave. But to be in sync with the NHL, we would have to increase divisional play and cut down on the cross-conference stuff. But from what I hear Fantrax doesn't suppport that.
that's why the NHL does that. They have alot of divisional play so it makes sense to include the top 3 from each division in the playoffs. We can't do that apparently with Fantrax. From what I hear, the two options are conference only or play everyone.
If we do "conference only" than it makes sense to pick the top 8 teams from each confernence for the playoffs.
If we do "play all teams" then it makes sense to pick the top 16 teams regardless of division for the playoffs.
Winning the division is a bragging rights thing but shouldn't be the seeding in playoffs as we can't apply the divisional play in fantrax, like the NHL does.
