Went to see the Mooseheads play Drummondville tonight at the Metro Centre, and it was a blast! The Mooseheads won 5-2.
1st Period was pretty bad for Halifax. Drummondville outplayed them for pretty much the entire period. Drummondville scored their first goal of the game on their first shot, on the powerplay after Jesse Lussier got 2 minutes for tripping. They would score on a powerplay again (only their 3rd shot of the game at that point) about 9 minutes into the game, after Timo Meier got 2 minutes for tripping. The second (and final) Drummondville goal was a good one that Zach Fucale had no chance of stopping.
2nd Period and onwards was all Halifax. Danny Moynihan scored 2 1/2 minutes into the second, which really lifted the mood of the Metro Centre! Late in the period Halifax got a penalty for too many men on the ice, but Matt Murphy scored a beauty goal shorthanded, and then the place was REALLY rocking. (Not a reference to the announcement that Black Sabbath is playing the Metro Centre on April 3rd lol). Darcy Ashley scored with 44 seconds left in the period, and then I knew for sure the Mooseheads would win.
3rd Period started off with a bang as sweet Swiss sensation (alliteration ftw) Timo Meier scored 8 seconds into the start of the period. Darcy Ashley scored with 5 1/2 minutes left in the game to really seal the deal.

Note: My man Drouin had 3 assists tonight, which brings him to 32 points in 15 games.
Note: One of my friends from my AP English class was on the SilverTron for a bit, as the guy sitting next to her was being interviewed by a local radio station during a TV timeout. She was with a bunch of people from her university. I went by my lonesome, but it was a great atmosphere in the Metro Centre!
Fuck you: to Sergei Boikov, defenseman for the Drummonville Voltigeurs. Don't bother yapping your snackhole to the ref when you've clearly committed a penalty. He reminded me of a guy I used to play soccer with, who coincidentally was drafted by the Gatineau Olympiques (in the 14th Round in 2012).
Fuck you: to whoever on Drummondville injured Nikolaj Ehlers. I didn't catch exactly who it was, but fuck you. If the refs saw it, there definitely would have been a penalty.
Note: 6,920 people in attendance for tonight's game. Pretty great crowd!
