Hello all fellow GM's! First off, Thank you everyone for sharing in this awesome league! Without everyone's participation, there is no league. I am extremely happy and honoured to be the first IFFHL Champion! the St.Louis Blues were a worthy opponent bringing excitement all the way to the final day. I have to get this off my chest: About Bryzgalov, all of you who said: "wash up" "not worth anything" "KHL bound" "Never win with Bryz as your starter" EAT YOUR WORDS You don't need a starting goalie to win this league. Goalies are highly overvalued here and I hope this goes to prove this point. It is not just my opinion anymore, it's history. My bragging rights start now for the next 365 days so that's how I decided to start All my players have IFFHL championship rings so the value of my players have gone up Great work everyone! Let's enjoy this!!!!!!!!! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO

It was a tight one and I was so sure I had it last night. Congratulations, you definitely deserve it. I think this years play-off has also proven that ranking at the end of our "final season" don't mean a lot. That last 5 weeks of the season is unpredictable. The finals are especially difficult as many injuries take their toll on the big name players and some even get rested as the NHL gears up for it's play-offs.
So working around that hurdle as well as having a secondary goaltender to Quick might have helped things end up differently.
I look forward to making you eat those words next season.
Cheers, Jason

Cup ring doesn't bring up the value of any player or at least not in fantasy hockey. Bring on the torture. Does it mean that player are worth a tad more since my team lost vs you in the 2nd round. I loss to the Cup winner.

Congratulations on your history making win Eric.
Sometimes a goalie just has to find the right home to regain his winning ways, and it seems like Bryz has found that in Minny.
Well Done!!
(now comes the tough part - with 6 UFAs to re-sign and stay under the cap)

First-off, Congratulations Eric - we certainly do have our differences in opinion, but it does take a solid team to go through four rounds and win the ultimate prize and you certainly proved your doubters wrong. Always thought you had one of the better teams on paper, and if Harding had been healthy all year, you probably would've been ranked near the top. And good to see your late season trade acquisitions paying off - goes to show that taking a bit of a risk and going for it does have a good chance of rewards.
Still believe Goaltending will be a key to success in this league - simply due to the laws of supply/demand - there is simply a very low supply and that it takes so long to develop goalies - that's why value is high - not solely the impact they make.
And still think it's best to strive to go for the best rank possible - this year was a bit of an anomaly with a team like the Blues (who knocked out 3 of the top 4 seeds) being ranked so low due to an inactive GM - shouldn't really count on that happening again (at least hope not!)
And Rebels should be thankful that we didn't reject the Girardi/Rychel trade that he was so opposed to at the trade deadline - keeping Girardi would've probably given the Flames the extra SHTOI he needed to win Round 1 (but then again, it was a trade that would be difficult to turn down from a Flames perspective). Lots of what-ifs we could do - does go to show how narrow a margin for error there was this year, where one goal here or there and everything could've turned out a bit differently.
Anything can happening in the playoffs and any team can knock out any other team - so many factors coming into play, including injuries, scheduling, hot/cold streaks that can easily put your team over the top. Sorry Ottawa, probably should've kept my mouth shut and not inquired about Hossa - you may have then kept all your key players and made the playoffs and then who knows - and in doing, you probably wouldn't have sold to Rebels the assets he needed to put him over the top.
Great first season everybody, now let's bring on some more trades... always good to mix it up (at least a little bit) from year to year to keep things interesting.

Ya kicked myself for that one. But meh. 1st and Rychel will probably make up for it in a few years. Sbisa sucks. Also, congrats Red Deer!

New unwritten rule: Player with IFFHL Championship rings are worth more :-) Seems accurate for fantasy hockey
