I voted no, simply because I've seen no discussion on the pros/cons of making this change. I have no idea why this is being proposed, or what problem it is trying to address? In the absence of a strong rationale for changing a category, I will always vote for the status quo.
EDIT: I've gone back and read the suggestion box material, and I'm still not certain what the rationale is for changing Goalie TOI to Saves.
I believe there appeared to be at least some support for adding FO% (while keeping FOW) to address the issue of the high number of C/W'ers. Adding FO% would lower the value of C's with C/W eligibility that aren't actually that good at faceoffs....whereas those that actually are good at faceoffs would continue to have strong value. Right now, a C/W who wins 1 draw out of a 1000 has value in our league (1 FOW), and that seems really odd to me. Why reward someone for being really crappy at something?

This was simply suggested as a better alternative to just dropping the Goalie TOI entirely (or converting to a useless stat like Goalie Assists), which believe will be too drastic. Prefer no changes at all, but if a change was to be made to the goalie stats, believe this would be a more mild and fair alternative, having less significant impact to most teams.

I am torn on this change. MOI as a stat isn't a great stat, those teams with the better G and more Gs are going to steam roll, with 2 available start slots. which makes acquiring a G next to impossible anyway.
I'd prefer removing it altogether a change the stat for a skater stat.
but if we move MOI to saves. that means that goalies on better NHL teams, which imo should have more value, could lose value.
Ryan Miller had more value on Buffalo than in St. Louis if we switch MOI to SVS . Does that makes sense?

Changing stats: Not all GMs will benefit. Inevitably some will be disadvantaged. We have to accept this principle if any stat are to be changed.
I am not advocating change, I am just pointing out the obvious so we dont get hung up on such arguements like "well this player will lose value...."
It will have to be a majority rule if anything is to change.

it isn't about "GM's benefiting" it is about "integrity of the league"
discussing what the impact is in specific situations gives us a broader idea on the impact of the whole.

Just wondering, but why do we need to replace categories? Couldn't we just add a new category and that would be that?

There is discussion on page 3 about replacing TOI here: iffhl.proboards.com/thread/443/suggestion-box?page=3. Some GM's here hate TOI as a stat, hence they want to replace it. I suppose GA could be added, if people are worried about rolling goalies to win the TOI stat...

I feel we should stick the way it is and maybe had the take away. Why decrease the value of goalies or modify it at this point. I simply feel it's not fair to make modification that could hurt the team that went after to starter. It just doesn't make sense to do this now. Maybe in a few years we could revisit this topic but I feel it's too soon for such debate.

Yeah, I really don't have a horse in this rate. I don't have an issue with TOI.
But for those that don't like TOI, GA would serve as a counter balance. That was simply my point. I wasn't actually advocating a change.

Thx for replying and I'm happy your involving yourself in such topic since you have the right to do so even tho you haven't earn my respect. Just kidding about the last part about respect. New or not, if you know what your talking about then just post your reasoning like you did. We always appreciate in such activity. Hopefully I wasn't too rude to anyone.

Ya I agree with Dave. There wasn't alot of complaints throughout the season regarding a certain stat category. I imagine everyone is generally satisified with our stats.
