They did start the rebuild when they traded fisher and Kelly....this is the continuation I guess.

They pretty much have to do that; or what Florida did a few years back (i.e., signing a whole bunch of mediocre players to overpriced deals. I just felt Ehrhoff is a guy that hold have helped them, even in the longer term.

Buffalo is smart. I heard they will be trading for bad contracts in return for high picks.

Well they did trade for Gorges so... He waived his no trade clause to go to buffalo....strange

As a Sabres fan, losing Ehrhoff is a tough pill to swallow; he was one of their best players. To hell with the cap recapture penalty!
I feel your pain, I am a Sharks fan and never wanted to see him leave San Jose, he was always such a steady, heady player. You can't expect him to wait around for the next re-build at his age though, he needs to win now. In Pittsburgh they can really use him and I thought that he signed a very cap friendly deal.
