They did start the rebuild when they traded fisher and Kelly....this is the continuation I guess.

They pretty much have to do that; or what Florida did a few years back (i.e., signing a whole bunch of mediocre players to overpriced deals. I just felt Ehrhoff is a guy that hold have helped them, even in the longer term.

As a Sabres fan, losing Ehrhoff is a tough pill to swallow; he was one of their best players.
To hell with the cap recapture penalty!
I feel your pain, I am a Sharks fan and never wanted to see him leave San Jose, he was always such a steady, heady player. You can't expect him to wait around for the next re-build at his age though, he needs to win now. In Pittsburgh they can really use him and I thought that he signed a very cap friendly deal. |
