I don't know that I would've given Komorov that much, but it's not an overpayment on the scale of Pouliot or Orpik so it's not too bad.

Crazy how Moulson and Vanek went opposite.
Moulson sign with Buffalo - 5 years at 5M a year Vanek sign with Minnesota - 3 years at 6.5 a year

Minnesota is going to be downright nasty to deal with next year, they have upped the offensive firepower by a huge margin. Subtract Heatley, add Vanek.....WOW!

I'd add Gionta to that list.
For what it's worth, I was listening to the Flames press conference. GM mentioned there was competition for Engelland, and noted that Calgary was comfortable paying a little over market value as long as the term was three years or less. (Same thing with Hiller and Raymond). While it's a lot of money, just listening to the guy speak, you can at least tell he's got a plan in place...
