I think that tbones proposal is best so far...Especially if new Montreal GM wants to pool all assets. That is best solution I saw here and I support it.

if we are going to allow Richmond to take players from teams...it will be from all teams.
We are not pooling Montreal, PV and Richmond only.
and i am very unsure I want to set this precedent.
Winning is a small part of fantasy hockey leagues.
In my mind improving your team year by year with drafts and trades is the best part.
I know right now Richmond's team is not very good, but he is going to get some very good players in the next few years and will be steadily improving.
Will. What are your thoughts?? What would you like to see happen?

My sense is that most of the newer people that have joined are vehemently opposed to giving any type of help, so i suspect this topic is dead. Sorry dude, I tried.
Perhaps we could instead consider that the trade panel "ease up" if there are any trades proposed to riverdogs that seem like a bit of a donation. Perhaps a volunteer system, for those who want, is best.

I can definitely live with this....

What would you like to see happen? I probably shouldn't post this but it's how I feel: I'm not going anywhere I've just accepted I won't be competitive for awhile. I can understand no one wanting to give me their players and I wouldn't really expect them to. Like I said before I think the league failed as a whole by taking advantage of whoever ran this team before and allowing trades that probably should have been vetoed go thru but I can understand not wanting to step in bc hey its their team they run it how they want. I'm not always going to get the best players b/c of the lotto, just as happened this year. One major problem I have is that if people are interested in my players I can't really give them up for futures b/c of having to make GP and staying above the floor, which makes deals even more complicated and harder to find but I will continue to search for them. If you give me special circumstances then how do you justify that to the others? I literally have like no NHL goalie and the prices on them are insane so really that's a dead end till hopefully one of the prospects I have pans out. Well there's a waiver draft but whatever his name traded those away too. Some will say well he is getting Jack but actually I have to face the real possibility of trading him away just to try get multiple assets. There is no easy fix here and I've accepted that. My opinions on the matter haven't changed. I was told it was a bad roster but I was also given a list of the roster with Kop, Vora, etc so hey it's even worse than I thought. That's fine I'll live with it but y'all failed as a league and my opinion on that matter won't change. Even knowing how bad of a roster I have I still received those lovely "rape" offers. I really don't care what y'all do to be honest bc I don't really have a say in what happens. I know Dave is big on rules as I was a few mins late on the Bracket challenge so wasn't allowed to do that round even though the games hadn't started but the draft lotto was scheduled for 9am and wasn't done till that afternoon/evening but that's life right. Maybe I win, maybe I still don't but if you are going to enforce stuff enforce it fairly. Sure I'm salty over it but hey I don't think you can change rules or make exceptions when the majority is pretty much against it anyways. So in my eyes I'm the real team player, not an I guy like some here b/c if I leave no one is taking over this shit roster and here's a big middle finger to the guys who still try to rape what little assets this team has left as soon as I came here and still try to. Y'all failed so I'm not really sure you can fix something that y'all won't admit y'all helped break. A special thank you to all the guys who have campaigned to get this roster help. I didn't personally ask for that but it's nice to know people out there want to look out for others when then don't have to. I seriously doubt it happens bc not everyone will be happy with the outcome and people will say I was given "special treatment" or it sets a bad precedent. I'm not taking anyone else's players either. I want no special treatments, donations, or precedents set for me, etc and I will be defiant till the end, until I win the league in 2025. Too much I here instead of more we and us here. So I think I have solved the problem which is there is no solution I just have to hope to draft well and make smart trades. I don't see how you can do anything that will make everyone happy so I will take the bullet. Just leave my roster as it is. I'm sure that comes across as an asshole so that's fine that's means I'm one but it's how I feel. Sorry if there are any hurt feels that is not my intention. Looking forward to getting to know everyone better thru the years. End of rant and hell if I know if that makes any sense at all. Thanks, Will

Will thanks for sharing man.
Out of all you wrote, this to me stands out the most:
"I literally have like no NHL goalie and the prices on them are insane so really that's a dead end till hopefully one of the prospects I have pans out."
If you are being honest that clubs with extra goalie assets are trying to high-ball you, then you have done your job to try and improve you team and you have a legitimate appeal to make to the admins for a goalie asset.
Even though you don't have a waiver pick, I don't see why can't have a goalie. Hammond and Darling are sitting as FA's and they'll most likely go to some club that doesn't desperately need a goalie. You should get them; or at least one.
IF the GMs here don't like the expansion option, then you should get a goalie in the waiver draft. no question.
Just my take on this.

Thanks, Will I can appreciate this rant and I for one understand why he's mad. As a league I do not believe we failed. Yes we should have fired John before it was too late. Also I was the one that started this thread so hopefully you weren't giving me the finger. If you ever need to talk just send me a pm and I'll reply as quickly. By the way you have you chance to upgrade your team while getting those gp. I'm sure you could get tons for that 2nd overall. If I was ready to give you such a package then I'm sure you could fix your problem with the pick but the thing is I'm sure you want to keep that pick. Also don't ever take offer to heart, some of us will start lower then others but the end result is what really counts.

I didn't realize he didn't have his 1&2 waiver picks. I think we should let him pick Hammond or darling.

Yes since I came aboard I have asked on prices on NHL goalies and specs and they are thru the roof. That was one of the main reasons I traded Aaron Ekblad was bc he was willing to include a goalie spec in the return but I stand firm by my stance that I want no special treatment

The problem with giving Hammond or Darling to RiverRats is that LI paid through the nose to obtain the 1st waiver pick. If we did something like that, I think you'd have to undue that trade.
But I think it's an excellent idea.
Given how lop-sided the Voracek-Datsyuk-2 waiver picks for nothing trade was, I'd be all in favour of reversing just the waiver picks component of that trade. Kelowna likely will still be an undefeated team this year, and RiverRats will likely still be a winless team. So it would have my vote.
I also don't think we should be holding RiverRats to min GP. He can't even sell his veterans off, which is ridiculous.
