We better hired our own agent and sign our own players. That could be a idea.

I read that NHLnumbers and hockeybuzz got their info from capgeek, and that capgeek mainly got their info from "private sources". This could be a nightmare for cap leagues. If nothing fills the gap, we might have to switch to using player's salaries...the NHLPA publishes that. But hopefully it doesn't come to that.

I dunno. if I was the media looking for an insider story, I'd say the whole "health issue" isn't the whole picture. NHL fantasy hockey is on the rise and notice how the other big sport leagues don't have a comparable to GapGeek. Put two-and-two together, and I would wager to guess the NFL bought out the CapGeek owner with some ridiculous sum of money. in return, he had to cancel operations and agree not to sell the rights.

I believe the difference in the aav supplied by capgeek and average salary is the inclusion of guaranteed bonuses(ie. signing bonus). Signing bonuses are typically applied to entry level contracts. We could easily go forwards using average salaries, which is easy to find. This would create marginally more functional cap space. The overall effect on most teams would be negligible, as teams tight to the cap do not usually have a lot of elc on their active rosters. The teams that do have more elc on their active roster are usually rebuilders. So this slight cap difference is not a competitive advantage or really a financial advantage, out side of the elc period.

If he sold the site, I really don't think he'd put up a message about his health?

I all ready took a look at the site yesterday but they got their cap info from Capgeek. So at the moment we don't have a site for our contract.

The best way would have a agent for every division and they will decide the contract for the UFA and RFA. But don't forget they will announce the signing UFA but the final decision will made by the board. Here's a idea, Kelowna,Me,Eric,Dave,Matt and one more gm will be a agent for every division. No gm can be made agent of their own Division for multiple reason like collusion and so on.

Frank, can you elaborate on your idea? What do you mean by deciding on RFA and UFA contracts?
Financial information for contracts will still be known, it just won't be easily found in 1 handy database like Capgeek. Every Sportsnet or TSN article about a signing will still say player X signed for Y years at $Z per year.

Sounds like a great way to screw over your fellow GMs... That's is soo uncalled, not true. I'm in another league where we send offer in to a agent to resign our player whether they are UFA or RFA to be . I just resign RNH to a 4.5M a year for 2 years . It may sound a tad low but our cap is at 68M and we are only 18 gm. We also send in bid for UFA like I just sign Jevin Connauton to a contract of 1.7 M a year for 1 year. Also a agent can't make a offer to a player that was targeted by a team meaning the sooner you send your offer in, the best odd you get of getting that player. At Nucks , what's soo funny. ? It work in my other league and I m not a agent but I ve been one in other league and I m a very fair gm.
