2.5 weeks till our 2nd ever playoffs, and I want to highlight some potential matchups based on current standings:
1st - Fair to say Jimmy has this in lock-down. Gunning for his 2nd straight regular season title.
2nd to 5th - Looks like a four horse race. I favour myself (obviously )and Abititi for 2nd overall as our schedule's are fairly easy to finish up.
6th to 7th - I would have put QUE battling for 2nd, but let's face it; losing Lundqvist sucks. hopefully he is back for the playoffs. Frank is wavering in this 6th place battle.
8th to 15th - This is where there is a lot of unpredictability. Eight teams all very close. To be honest, I'd prefer finishing lowest in this group for the better draft pick. Just gotta get in the play-offs; anything can happen Plus finishing lower means you got a chance of squaring off against the defending champ!
16th - Two teams duking it out to face Jimmy! I favour the Golden Seals as Prince Valley GM seems to have vanished from the IFFHL boards. I'd prefer to see an active GM in the playoffs anyway.
Good luck

I'd love to be the team that sends Kelowna home this year but I'm still without a goalie and my next 2 weeks are up against stiffer competition than PV, imo.
On another note: are draft picks based on regualar season standings for the 16 playoff teams? I remember something about this last year but couldn't find it in the rules thread.

"Entry Draft -Date to be determined during each year's offseason.
-Will consist of 5 rounds (per poll,Chance of Getting First Pick (Only for 1st Round of Draft, remaining rounds are reverse order of standings)
Last - 27.8% 23rd - 21.2 22nd - 16.3 21st - 12.3 20th - 8.9 19th - 6.4 18th - 4.3 17th - 2.8
-ie. 5th place wins lottery, he moves up to first, the 4 above him all move down 1 spot, 6th, 7th, 8th remain the same
League Champ = Playoff Winner - moves down to last pick"
Draft order IS reverse order of standings, EXCEPT for League Champ, moves down to last pick.

A few playoffs match-ups are likely set (my predictions):
#1 vs #16 KEL vs CGS - Both CGS and PVW have tough match-ups so I predict CGS hold onto the final playoff spot.
#2 vs #15 VAN vs MRK - tough first play-off match for Kimmer, but that's what he gets for doing nothing at the trade deadline lol
#3 vs #14 RDR vs MTL,PLK,ABB - #14 is still up for grabs. all comes down to the final week.
#4 vs #13 ABI vs MTL,PLK,ABB - Abitibi has 4th in lock-down. The former Blues franchise still strong and eager for play-off revenge.
#5 vs #12 QUE,DEN vs MTL,PLK,ABB - QUE or DEN will secure 5th overall. both have tough final weeks.
#6 vs #11 QUE,DEN vs MDV,BUF,BAR,BEL - Weird putting Barrie in this group! wasn't expecting Matt to be so low this year
#7 vs #10 PWH vs MDV,BUF,BAR,BEL - Frank secures home is with 7th overall. Only thing is will he stay healthy or get a lot of IRs for his excuse?
#8 vs #9 MDV,BUF,BAR,BEL - not a bad 1st round to start in this seeding.

It's been such a strange year; I didn't think I'd even make the playoffs. Suppose anything can happen now. There are a few intriguing matches, for sure.
Are we going to do a NHL playoff pool again this year? It was fun last year.

I'll put in my vote for an NHL play-off pool as well!

I enjoy the bragging rights more for non-iffhl related gambling

Since this is the last week of the regular season I believe can we start sending down players waiver free for purposes of the playoffs? I will be out of town Sunday and Monday for work so was hoping to do it before then.

Coming down to the end of round 1! a couple very tight matchups:
Habs vs Majors 8.5-8.5 Slashers vs Eskimos 9.5-7.5

Abbotsford has me on the ropes for sure. Going to need one of his goalies to get shelled.

I'm headed for an earlier exit than I would have liked. Good parity in this league and a lot of quality teams.
