Below is the reason you don't sell out your team to try to get a goalie. You end up losing 9/10 and end up losing a top line player and a possible top line player. Be weary with goalies guys!!! To Denton Darcy Kuemper Christian Ehrhoff Hunter Smith To Kelowna Blake Wheeler Teuvo Teravainen Niklas Svedberg 2015 2nd Entry Read more: iffhl.proboards.com/thread/629/den-kel-approved-3#ixzz3Yu9xcGPA

I agree that was a big price to pay for a unproven goaltender but don't forget he started really hot and Kelowna was smart enough to make a deal that advantage himself. To be fair I never really bought in Kuemper and I hate trading for a hot upcoming goaltender unless it's a sure thing like Mrazek.

I guess I missed the memo that he's all of a sudden a #1 NHL goaltender with a winning track record and high fantasy finishes. He's a goalie spec, and goalie specs are crapshoots.

Howard was on shaking ground to start the season and he finish on the bench which I expected him to do so. I'm confident that Mrazek is now the Goaltender of Detroit for the next 5-10 years. I would bet my life on it but you don't need to agree with me.

We want to perpetuate a losing strategy?

Howard in Detroit reminds me a lot of Crawford in Chicago...

Crawford is going nowhere! Howard may get supplanted but Mrazek just lost and next year is a new year. Odds are with Howard yet.

The difference is Detroit isn't in cap hell like Chicago is. Crawford can be moved and they don't really downgrade in net at all. Detroit doesn't have to move Jimmy.

Chicago doesn't have to move Crawford either. They could just as easily move a guy like Patrick Sharpe. I'm sure they didn't sign that Russian-whiz kid with the intention of sending him back to the KHL!
