I love the third option the grace period. I'm pretty sure I'll vote for it!! Now the public can be heard and be useful. If you want your voice to be heard make sure it's before one of the trade Panel voted.

I am old-school handshake kinda guy. I figure that! I'm in between I feel a deal should be well discuss and not done it within a hour or so. By taking your time with every small detail you avoid making bad deals and mistake. But I agree once a deal is posted there shouldn't be going back on your word unless the gm modify the deal when posting it and telling them you didn't agree to such deal. But having a period of grace might be what the league want and need. We shall see.

I applaud Frank and Dave D (Sabres) for their thinking on this issue and coming up with creative ideas to solve this problem. I like the idea of freezing the assets of a voided trade, but then someone has to administer and manage all those lists.
In the end, I have to opt for the simplicity of Option #1.

Should this be re-worded 'Trade Cancellation once Posted and Confirmed'
Though it may seem like a logical compromise, don't think #2 is the best option - prefer #1. Having been on both sides of agreeing to and not agreeing to a retraction request, it was not pleasant to deal with either way. I firmly believe the initial agreement of a deal in posting by both GM's should be a firm contract. Treat things as such and review carefully before posting/agreeing. Allowing retractions creates too much unnecessary drama and potential for damaging GM relations that prefer not to have to be dealt with. A deal is a deal once posted and confirmed. Sometimes it is advantageous to take your time to think things through and shop around, other times it may be better to act quickly before someone else jumps in to snag your target, other times offers can be of limited time - it's all part of the negotiation process. Sure mistakes can happen, think we've all made our share of bad trades, but that's often the best way to learn better for next time.

We have a majority, so the new rule will be
"Once a trade has been posted by BOTH GMs in Trades Pending Approval, both GMs have to agree to cancel that trade if one GM changes his mind. Once the deal has been approved by 3 Trade Panel Members, it is binding and CANNOT be cancelled."
