I have another idea, if you want to reward GMs for their research: move Entry Draft before real one and move Waiver draft before training camp, maybe even more. For example: I knew for at least six months which 7 or 8 players will move from KHL to NHL. And now we wait until September for the Waiver draft, and most of them will be taken before my first pick. I am sure it's the same way with GMs that follow Juniors closely... Maybe it's opening another topic, but my guess was that you wanted to reward research and knowledge.. Am I right, Frank?
Now THESE are interesting observations...
When is the waiver draft, by the way?
I've all ready talk about doing the entry draft and completing with Dave and Matt and they weren't fawn of the idea. I bet this idea will get shut down since too many gm love to know when their possible target get selected or which team select which prospect. Also it s easier to complete a goalie system with the way we have it ATM and less work. Why less work because you simply take bpa and copy what your favorite franchise decided to do. |

Personally I don't think we should be using the Entry draft to draft players who weren't even drafted in the actual "NHL Entry draft" it kind of defeats the purpose. If the "waiver draft" is put in place to draft such players that are free agents than that is what it is purpose is intended for. Something to also consider is if you want a guy on waivers and you don't have the pick you could trade for a pick or you could ask someone to draft a guy and then trade him to you...
