If you're gonna lose it anyway, get some possible depth for free for it.

There's a few GM's that have expressed interest in these picks.

I'm not sure I'd be in favour of an auction. That would basically mean rewarding managers for being inactive. Does anyone know if these teams are responding to trade offers?

auction wasn't meant to be serious. Edm had responded a week or so ago, i've never pm'ed the others

Tough to impose tight time limits on as of yet unused draft slots. There was no stated limitations as per time constraints to use available draft slots. It is a viable strategy to forgo selecting until closer the end of camp. Although the higher rated/respected players may not be available, the darkhorses appear and make their viability known.
So to put a hard and fast, short term deadline in place (where none existed previously) could, in fact, be counter productive to drafting strategy. One of the teams with an unused selection may be employing a wait and see strategy and the rule amendment in the middle of the process could, inadvertently, have a negative impact on them.
I am all in favour of a tighter draft protocol, but implementing one on the fly could actually prove to be punitive to a strategy that was perfectly viable at the beginning of our waiver draft process. Why, in a manner of function, invalidate their drafting strategy retroactively? Let's give them until the end of camp this year (as there was no guidelines to this potential when the draft started) and impose a hard and fast rule for next season onwards.

Does everything need to be spelled out in exact literal legalese? smh
This is a free fantasy hockey league, not the Magna Carta. Can't we ever just employ common sense?
Most of these picks have been dormant for days already, an extra 2 days is more than fair.

And if you want to go by "rules" or "precedent", then in the past we have assigned "best player available" using the Fantrax rating to skipped picks.
Allowing a few extra days to use their unclaimed assets is already generous enough, IMO.

(per Fantrax player list) purposely skipped picks stayed skipped
