I better intro myself here to. Been here in league near a week, finally trying to see where this team stands. I will say it's great Keith is here to. But I know I won't be getting makar, who is one guy I really like. I like hockey but just not real knowledgeable on all the players especially in a deep league. The foreign names don't make it any easier. Lol. Do like watching the game though. I'm a pens fan and live south of Pittsburgh. I'm more a baseball nut despite the really horrible pirates but I'm old so I remember tbe great 70s in pirates history.

Don't you think you ought to start learning about those players before you start making trades? I mean that is just common sense right? or at least ask someone's advice who is not involved in the trade, there are plenty of knowledgeable guys around here...anyone on the trade panel for instance. Everyone in this league has asked for outside input on trades at some point or another. if you want to be a good GM in this league, you will do the same.

The deal was voided and can we please be nice to Roger ? There's no reason for quoting him when he even mention in his last post that he won't be making any more deals while he get familiar with our league.

I wasn't trying to mean Frank, I was just asking him to exercise some common sense. In the same sentence in which he withdrew the deal, he said he still liked it on its own merits but didn't want to create trouble for you, which is a nice thing to say, I can appreciate that but its clear that he's not close to being ready for this league. Do you really think with very little knowledge of NHL prospects, players, managing the salary cap and league trade values he has any real chance of being successful? If he's going to stay (which doesn't seem likely because he already quit once in the 1st week), don't you think someone needs to tell him that he doesn't know what he's doing and needs help? If he has any pretense of staying, you and he ought to be thanking me.

Wow...sounds like we have some high and mighty here. But that's good....we all need chiefs to guide the regular Indians.
We need bosses to guide the peasants.
We need coaches to guide players.
But we also need to not fully put down someone new that does have experience in huge leagues with cap etc that just needs to study nhl players in depth cause been a little while since doing this on hockey

Now do your research and get yourself ready for the season and our up and coming waiver draft. If you ever need advice you have me,Jay,Dave that you can dm. All I want is to start fresh for these new gm. I want them to like it here, I do not want to scare them away like Itcompton is trying. He kind of remind me of my grandma a when I was about to start off my first day of construction (fondation). She told me it was soo much hard work and so on that I was ready to go when the first day came around.

Him wanting to leave because everything got blown out of proportion is reasonable if you ask me he didn't want to cause trouble, hell Red Deer left 3 times. You even said that it wasn't veto worthy, so I don't see why he is not ready for this league judging that from 1 trade that is not ever veto worthy is not reasonable. Lets just chill reset start from 0 and forget this happened and move on and assign him an advisor for 2 week and get him acclimated to the league and go from there.

Excellent, bring it on rookie, just try and learn something before you pull the trigger on any trades, that is if you want to be successful

I think this is a good lesson that we need to go back to new GMs having an advisor for at least a couple of weeks.
I'm going to put it back in the rules.

I'm sorry, Frank...I don't know what it is: Maybe you all know each other, maybe...you just sound and write in the same syntax by exposure to one another...but there's a really weird vibe to the over-emphasis, hyper-defensive attitude that feels like...A LOT of effort to sound natural, convincing, whatever, but...For my two cents, I see NOTHING wrong with quoting a GM, new or old, and providing an informed, reasoned opinion like Red Army just did. And you defending Roger by name and he defending you by name, THIS EARLY in what's essentially an introductory period is reading, really, really weird. Nothing that Red Army wrote was "mean"...Like even that's weird, Frank. Weird in that, wait a second way in which you begin to think, what's he talking about?
