We have had much discussion for and against waiver free rule and I would like to get a vote once and for all on this:
a "Yes" vote changes the rule, so waivers go to end of playoffs.
a "No" vote keeps the rule the same.

Teams are currently able to send players up and down freely during the playoffs when setting their lineup for the week.
My understanding here is a Yes vote is to keep this as-is, and No is to remove it and keep standard waivers at all times? (Barring the period right before the regular season, but that's probably a different discussion)

I'd like to see a limited number of waiver wire exempts like 3 to 5 for the playoffs

I don't think we should perpetuate rules that make teams want to bury good players in minors forever. So i voted yes and feel good about it.

Before I vote, I would like to know what the NHL handles these during the playoffs? Does anyone know? I do not have time at the moment to research it.

I think Willy's idea has merit too (i.e., it's a very good middle ground). I have voted "yes" - for a change. Because I think extending waiver period until playoffs is better than what we have now. But that doesn't mean I couldn't support limited moves for teams that have built up super minor league set ups. It's a good compromise.

"Starting twelve days before the start of the season and ending on the day of each team's final game, teams wishing to loan players on their active rosters to any other league must first place the player on waivers. Every day at noon Eastern Time, the league publishes the list of players on waivers. For a 24 hour period following publication of the list, players on waivers cannot be loaned or traded. All other teams in the league are eligible to claim any player on waivers. If no team places a claim, then the team can loan the player to another league."
Each team's final game is final regular season game if they don't make the playoffs, and elimination game if they make the playoffs.

Pretty sure waivers are in effect at all times in the NHL. If a player has to clear waivers in the regular season, the rule is the same in the playoffs. The same way a guy like Bennett can burn a year of his ELC by playing in playoff games now, everything is the same.

Any rule that promotes parity and prevents "the rich from getting richer" is a good one in my opinion.

Before I vote, I would like to know what the NHL handles these during the playoffs? Does anyone know? I do not have time at the moment to research it. "For playoffs, teams may recall an unlimited number of players, but is limited to only three recalled players on the active roster at once. That is, unless it recalled four players following the trade deadline, in which case it can keep all four for the remainder of the playoffs." After the NHL trade deadline teams no longer have to carry a maximum of 23 players, it is unlimited and they only have to stay under 50 contracts and 90 reserves. 18 and 19 year olds in juniors with a contract count towards the 90, but not the 50. NHL teams never lose a player to waivers in the playoffs since they can keep an unlimited amount of players on their roster so they never need to expose a player to waivers to play someone else. This is why I prefer no waivers in the playoffs, teams should be able to dress their best cap compliant roster and shouldn't have to worry about a team finishing in 22 or 23 stealing a player from them during our finals since they have a player that is questionable and want to dress someone else.
