Barrie is correct. There is a 90 roster limit in the playoffs.
But this still doesn't address my point above; the NHL has a system in place to prevent teams from stockpiling a ton of massive one-way salaries in the minors (only a portion can be counted against the cap). We are operating in the old system, where any player could just be buried without penalty.
We have to allow one way contracts to not count in the minors since we only have 24 teams. The amount of cap from all NHL players only works in a 30 team league. Allow only so many and that would work.

I think this league has good parity. 20 of 24 teams easily have a chance at the playoffs next season and anything can happen in a one week matchup. I'm posting too much though and will let others share their opinions. I am more the kind of gm that thinks that the team that wins is the team that has the best regular season record. Playoffs are just a bonus.

I agree with Matt and his view. Keep those view coming!! I just don't get this parity parity parity bull shit. There will always be a weaker team since there will always be gm like Kelowna, me,Matt and other that are better at negotiating. It's very hard to have a balance league where all team have a fair shot at the cup on a yearly basis. The more cody understand this, the more he'll stop with this parity crap. Also with this buddy idea will also avoid raping in the near future and the trading panel is another way to keep it more balance. The only thing the Panel should do better is to protect the weaker gm to make same mistake over and over like john did.

This is accounted for by our 10% increase of the NHL cap. That is approximately 7M x 24 teams = 168M 6 less teams X 70M = 420M We still have a 250M discrepancy.

Ditto. I won't respond, will let others chime in. There's plenty of time for us to debate later
