The fact that a parody is out in like 2 days, just shows how retarded that video is, with that video i'm 100% convinced Karlsson, Stone and Duchene are not Senators at the deadline unless something happens between now and then. If you’re another gm, why give full value on the return when you know the owner is planning on dumping them?

Same not getting riled up for nothing this time around, but with the Melnyk video I get a sense that it might be true or they are just using it as an excuse to get retweets. I actually think it may be real this time. But not getting my hopes up too much. Just want it to be over. Pretty much. I know were not gonna get the value EK is worth, but if they get shafted hard enough in an EK trade I have no hope for them getting any good value out of Duchene, and Stone who on their own should each bring back more than Pacioretty imo but this is GM Eugene Melnyk were talking about so.....

If you’re another gm, why give full value on the return when you know the owner is planning on dumping them? You're right, but some teams like Edmonton, NJ, Carolina, Buffalo, Vancouver...etc won't really have a chance at those players at FA especially EK they are gonna get out bid by teams with no state tax, and nicer areas to live, so they look at doing a sign and trade, or rental with the hopes or resigning because that is the only way they get a chance at them. Edit- If every GM know you're trying to dump them then every GM is going to do their due diligence and inquire/make an offer. If they had a NMC/NTC and publicly said they would only accept a trade/sign with a few teams then then it's different. Like how Panarin is pretty much going to NY or LA based team next season

who's on your list, so I don't pick them... (angel smiley) I had Wolanin at #2 on my list...happy to have him at pick #11. How did you arrive at this particular ranking? Always interested in other GMs informed opinions as I didn’t have him in my top ten.

A mix of stat projection, media reports, NHL teams need for said player and of course own IFFHL team's need. I have a battle going on for my bottom pairing D spots. I want my guys competing for spots; no guarantees on the Texas Stars.

We all have to use our own judgement...can't just rely on the NHL draft results as a guideline. My favorite waiver pick of all time has been Jesper Bratt got him with a low pick. Dont get me wrong...I've made bad picks but I like to reflect on my good picks and hope I can repeat on those. Who was your favorite waiver pick?

Who was your favorite waiver pick? Not one to show my cards (Hate posting Trade Blocks, lol), but Bratt was on my radar. I'm in three leagues and I'm usually multiplicative in my selections if the player checks off all the boxes I value (eg Colton Point) and I've got Bratt in the other two leagues, so that was a very good snag. He wouldn't have got past me. I think Kelowna did the same thing with Sikura one year. Again, got him in the other two leagues I'm in. Here, the hits obviously: Heinen, Cal Peterson...I really like Appleton. But I think Sami Niku is my favourite so far. I saw minimal footage of him, read little about him because there wasn't much on him and selected him in three leagues. Funny enough, I was nervous with the pick I selected Borgman with that Niku would be gone. This to say, I almost picked Niku at 8 in the draft I ended up picking him 23rd (iirc?) and was pleasantly surprised he was still there. Kind of reads a little like (from my perspective) Wolanin in your case. Could be one of those: Why didn't I have player x higher? It's doubtful that Niku was on many lists above 25 - and even that might be naive to say - but I guess the value I placed on him incited a kind of temporary nervous regret I'm sure we all experience when plotting assets and picks on lists in the hopes another GM isn't thinking the same things value-wise.

I liked Niku and I was considering him for my 2nd round selection, but you valued him a tad more at the time. I couldn't pass on Gaudette with my first pick last year.

Also, Appleton believe it or not was on my consideration list for a 4th rounder last year. Just missed on him!
