I had Wolanin at #2 on my list...happy to have him at pick #11. Didn't realize he was available. nice pick up. So after Wolanin I had a cluster of 5 forwards on my list...I couldn't decide who to take. 4 of the 5 went earlier, so Maksimov fell to me perfectly. feeling good I got a couple high guys on my list in round 1. |

Maksimov was drafted by SKA in last year's waiver draft...never picked up on Fantrax I guess.

Karlsson to the Sharks. Wonder if my Merkley is headed the other way... Per Dean Brown of TSN in Ottawa: The Sens have traded Erik Karlsson and Francis Perron to SJ for a 1st rd pick in 2019 or 2020, C-Chris Tierny, 2nd rd pick 2019, C-Josh Norris, LW-Rudolfs Balcers and D-Dylan DeMelo. Sens also get a 2nd rd pick in 2021. It becomes a first if the Sharks sign him and SJ makes it to the final yhis season. The Sens also get a 1rst in 2021 or 2022 if Karlsson plays for an eastern team in 2018/19. Senators are especially excited about prospects Josh Norris and Rudolfs Balcers. Norris just happens to be Brady Tkachuck's best friend.[ |

the conditions on the trade are pretty funny. One is if Karlsson is if the Sharks trade Karlsson to an eastern conference team this year, then they have to give another 1st to Ottawa

Perhaps, but with types like him becoming more a rarity these days coupled with a cheap long term contract and waiver exempt status made him the right pick for me, provides me flexibility for certain matchups, which is key |
