Nice pick 1st overall Drake Batherson. Looks to be a good one Hope so! In watching him and being a sens fan looking at most of his scouting reports, he could probably be in the NHL this year while contributing 30 or so points in a full season, but they might play it smarter and safer and let him play in the AHL on the top line for a year build up his confidence (Belleville was horrible last year so it might not be any different than playing in Ottawa). Outlook is like 2C with 60+ point potential or 2/3C like Perreault with more skill and less grit with like 45+ point potential, some people say he could be better but i'm ok with what I listed. |

I never understood the hype around him. Was one of the best player for Team Canada at the WJC-20 his stick in the HHOF, scored a hat trick 1 game then the next game with the same stick he scored 2 and gave his stick to Kyrou when his broke which he then scored with so his stick has 2 hat tricks on it and it got inducted. Was the leading scorer in the QMJHL playoffs led his team to the finals where they lost in 6 to Acadie-Bathurst Titan who ended up winning the Memorial Cup as well. That's where most of his hype comes from |

I never understood the hype around him. Was one of the best player for Team Canada at the WJC-20 his stick in the HHOF, scored a hat trick 1 game then the next game with the same stick he scored 2 and gave his stick to Kyrou when his broke which he then scored with so his stick has 2 hat tricks on it and it got inducted. Guy was under a PPG in one of the worst JR A leagues in the country at 17. He's transformed into a legitimate prospect for the WJC which he didn't even belong on the team. I'm really not sure how he got on that team probably something silly about refusing to play Glass in a non first line role. For us fantasy wise it makes sense. He seems like he's going to be an NHLer from this hype it's more of just a commentary on how he's become a "top prospect" for factors outside of his own merit. |

Kinda how Chabot was barely or not even a top 50 prospect then shot up into the top 5 after the 2016-17 season where he got a wall of accolades from playoffs and WJC. |

The hype is his draft position. Any player who becomes a legit NHL prospect who was draft after round 4 is amazing.
Plus Sens suck and Melnyk announced today his team will be filled with rookies. So Batherson will have his opportunity to become an impact player sooner rather than later.
